Connect your AI
Add the address to your AI, log in to Saleshunt, pick the workspace whose balance it uses, and approve. Choose your tool:
Add the connector
In a Claude chat, click +, then Connectors → Add connector → Add custom connector (or go to Customize → Connectors). Name it Saleshunt, paste the address and click Continue:
Server addresshttps://api.saleshunt.ai/mcpClaude detects the sign-in settings by itself. Keep them as they are and click Add.
Connect
Click Connect, log in to Saleshunt, pick the workspace whose balance Claude uses, and approve. Claude confirms with “Connected to Saleshunt”.
Switch it on in a chat
In a chat, click +, open Connectors and turn Saleshunt on.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector first under Organization settings → Connectors; members then click Connect under Customize → Connectors.
Add a custom MCP server
Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click Add and choose Add custom MCP server. Saleshunt isn't listed in ChatGPT yet, so you add it yourself.
Fill in the form
Name: Saleshunt. Under Connection, keep Server URL and paste the address. Authentication stays on OAuth; you don't need the advanced OAuth settings. Tick I understand and want to continue.
Server addresshttps://api.saleshunt.ai/mcpConnect and use it
Log in to Saleshunt, pick the workspace and approve. In a chat, type @ and choose Saleshunt.
Custom MCP servers depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings; on Business and Enterprise an admin may need to allow them.
Add Saleshunt
Run this in your terminal:
Terminalclaude mcp add --transport http --scope user saleshunt https://api.saleshunt.ai/mcp--scope usermakes Saleshunt available in every project. Already added Saleshunt in Claude on the web? Then it shows up in Claude Code by itself as “claude.ai Saleshunt”, and you can skip this command.Log in
In Claude Code, type
/mcp, choose saleshunt and pick Authenticate. Approve in the browser tab that opens.
Add a remote server
Any tool that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in (OAuth) works. Add the address as a remote (HTTP) server:
Server addresshttps://api.saleshunt.ai/mcpLog in
When your tool asks, log in to Saleshunt, pick the workspace and approve.
Can't sign in from your tool? Use an API key instead.
Stuck? If the sign-in link has expired or the page can't be reached after you approve, start again from your AI tool and finish in the browser tab it opens. Connected the wrong workspace? Disconnect Saleshunt in your AI tool and connect again.
Check that it works
Ask your AI:
“What does Saleshunt charge per lookup, and what's my balance?”
It calls saleshunt_get_pricing, which is free, and shows your plan, prices and balance. If you see them, you're connected.
Ask in your own words

Find companies that fit your question
Find [50] [installers of heat pumps] in [Utrecht province] with [10 to 50] employees that [offer maintenance contracts]. Show each company with why it matched.
Look into a company before a call
Find out about [company.nl]: what they sell, who their customers are, and whether they are [hiring salespeople]. Show where you found it.
Find the right person and their email
Who is the [owner or managing director] at [company.nl]? Then find their work email. Tell me if the title is a close match rather than exact.
Turn a list into contacts
For each company in [this list], find the [head of operations] and their work email. Check the price first and stop at [€10].
Check your signals
Which of my signals had new hits this week, and for which companies? Pause the ones that found nothing in a month.
Run it on a schedule
API keyEvery Monday: check [my signals] for new hits, find the [owner] at each company that had one, and send the list to [your team channel].
Building an agent? Use an API key.
For agents, automations and scheduled tasks that run without anyone at the keyboard.
Create a key
In app.saleshunt.ai, go to Settings → API keys → Create key. Name it after what will use it. Copy it right away: it starts with sh_live_ and is shown once. Only admins can create keys.
Keep it in an environment variable
Store it as SALESHUNT_API_KEY. Never put a key in a prompt or a chat message.
Send it as a header
Every request carries Authorization: Bearer $SALESHUNT_API_KEY.
Then add Saleshunt to your software:
Most agent frameworks take a remote MCP server as an address plus headers:
{
"mcpServers": {
"saleshunt": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://api.saleshunt.ai/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${SALESHUNT_API_KEY}" }
}
}
}Add Saleshunt with the key as a header:
export SALESHUNT_API_KEY="sh_live_…"
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user saleshunt https://api.saleshunt.ai/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer $SALESHUNT_API_KEY"Claude Code saves the expanded key in ~/.claude.json, so treat that file as a secret.
Some tools can only start local servers. Bridge them with mcp-remote, which sends the header for them:
{
"mcpServers": {
"saleshunt": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["mcp-remote", "https://api.saleshunt.ai/mcp", "--header", "Authorization:${AUTH_HEADER}"],
"env": { "AUTH_HEADER": "Bearer sh_live_…" }
}
}
}Keep Authorization:${AUTH_HEADER} without a space: on Windows a space breaks the argument.
Authorization: Bearer sh_live_… and that the key hasn't been revoked.Sign in or an API key? Both reach the same tools, at the same prices.

- Looking into a company or finding the right person is charged even when we find nothing.

Do I need to be technical?
No. In Claude or ChatGPT you paste one address, log in to Saleshunt and approve. The API key route is only for people building their own agents.
Do I need a Saleshunt account?
Yes, a free one. You log in with it when you connect, and lookups are paid from the balance of the workspace you pick.
Which Claude and ChatGPT plans does it work with?
Claude: any plan that lets you add a custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it first. ChatGPT: plans that allow custom MCP servers. On Business and Enterprise, an admin may need to allow them.
Can my AI spend money without asking me?
Not unless you let it. ChatGPT asks you to confirm every paid lookup or search. Claude pauses for your approval unless you've set that tool to “Always allow”. Free tools, like reading results, may run without asking. One approval of a company search covers every company it delivers, so asking for 50 can cost up to €7.50. Nothing runs without the balance to pay for it.
What can it see in my workspace?
Only what its tools return: the results of its lookups and searches in the workspace you connected, and that workspace's signals. It can't open your sheets or contacts, send email, or change members, settings or billing.
Is it secure, and how do I stop it?
Your AI reaches only the workspace you connected, and only through these tools. Data is processed in the EU. To end access, disconnect Saleshunt in your AI tool's connector settings, or revoke an API key in Settings → API keys. Only connect https://api.saleshunt.ai/mcp, and never paste an API key into a chat.
Can I connect more than one workspace?
Each connection uses one workspace, the one you pick when you approve. To switch, disconnect Saleshunt in your AI tool and connect again.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Paid lookups stop and your AI tells you there isn't enough balance. Reading results and checking prices still work. Top up under Billing in app.saleshunt.ai.
